DALE CARNEGIE YOUNG ADULT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program, open to all H.S. students and back by popular demand, teaches life skills in communication, leadership, interpersonal skills, public speaking, stress management, and self-confidence. This is a world renowned program offered at St. Andrews Church off of Rt 97 in Glenwood (as River Hill High School is not available with schools closed). The church has a very large room which promotes safe social distancing practices while allowing social interaction and learning and developing in a safe and productive manner.

Excused Absences

To make an absence legal, we need an email verification from the parent/guardian if your student is absent from a class or for the entire school day. Please email GHSAbsence@hcpss.org. We will record your student's absence to help teachers know who needs to make up any missed assignments. Please email your student's first and last name, grade, and reason your student is absent. Only HCPSS approved reasons will be approved per the HCPSS Policy 9010, Attendance.

Gardening and Geo Club

Mr. Brain Bohlayer, Math Teacher, wanted to form a group of students interested in gardening/farming, growing fresh organic fruits and vegetables, sharing produce, plants, seeds, etc. with others, particularly those in need. Working along with Dr. Jennifer Shepard, Science Teacher, and her GEO Club students, they were able to compile a list of students who are interested in gardening/farming, want to do good things in the world, and/or just want to get out of the house for a little bit.
