Two military visits are planned in Student Services in the near future.
Sgt. Erik Puente, from the U.S.Marines will be in Student Services on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00 to talk to interested students about scholarships, trade schools opportunities, and career opportunities in the U.S. Marines. Sign up in Naviance or see Mrs. Miles in Student Services if you want to meet with him.
Petty Officer Allison Hewitt, from the U.S. Navy will be in Student Services on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 9:30 am to talk to interested students who are interested in finding out more about the Navy. Sign up in Naviance or see Mrs. Miles in Student Services if you want to meet with her.
Applications are available in Student Services for the Columbia, MD members of the Links Incorporated Scholarship. Two different scholarships will be awarded.
A student planning to attend a Historically Black College or University (four-year award for $2,500 each year, for a total of $10,000).
A student planning to attend Howard Community College (two-year award for $2,500 each year, for a total of $5,000).
Completed scholarships applications must be returned to the Columbia MD Links Office by March 31, 2018,

Young Terps Scholars at the University of Maryland is a three week summer collegiate program that will be July 8 – 27, 2018. It is competitive, and based on academic performance.
Experience rigorous college courses, earn three college credits, and appreciate the rich diversity of campus life at UMD. More details are available about this program in Student Services.
Howard Community College is offering Summer 2018 Kids on Campus. These courses provide wonderful enrichment options in a wide variety of subject areas for ages 7-17. Some of the new courses are Exploring Electronics, SAT Prep, Advanced Robotics with Mindstorm, Latin Language, Minecraft Designers, Writing Dynamic College Essays, Drone Pilot 101: Build your own, Take it home! Booklets are available in the Student Services describing all courses offered for Summer 2017 Kids on Campus and registration instructions. The programs run June 18 through August 17 with both half and full day options.
