The Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program, open to all H.S. students teaches life skills in communication, leadership, interpersonal skills, public speaking, stress management, and self-confidence. This is a world-renowned program offered at River Hill High School back by popular demand.

Congratulations to senior, Jane Park! In June, Jane Park represented the State of Maryland at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts. Because of her work with the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, Jane was presented with the Award of Excellence from The Congress for Global Good.

Student Lead Walkout, September 20, 2019

At approximately 10:50 am on September 20, 2019, about 150 students from Glenelg High School participated in the student lead Climate Strike, the nationwide movement. Students congregated in the stadium, while speeches were read regarding climate change. After the strike commenced at 11:22 am, students returned to their 4th-period classes or their lunch shifts. The walkout was peaceful and no incidents occurred. The administration and staff were there to ensure the students were safe and to serve with any crowd management.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced semifinalists in its 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. We are proud to announce that two Glenelg High School students named among the approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the nationwide program. Congratulations to the Glenelg High School semifinalist, Claire R. Brinster and Charlie M. Trible. These students will be given the opportunity to compete for one of 7,600 National Merit Scholarships totaling more than $31 million to be offered in the spring. Way to go Gladiators!

Boundary Review Hearings for the Public

All public hearings will be held in the Boardroom at 10910 Clarksville Pike, with satellite rooms available for overflow. The order of community members will be posted on BoardDocs the day of the meeting.
