HCC’s financial aid office is very excited about the upcoming FAFSA workshop that will be held at Glenelg High School from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 12, 2018.   The financial aid officers hope that coming onsite to Glenelg High School will be helpful for students and families to encourage early completion of the FAFSA and maximize the opportunity for students to apply early enough for financial aid to be considered not only for federal aid but, for state and institutional aid as well.

****  Please note, this workshop is not just for those planning to attend Howard Community College. It is for all students preparing to enroll for any college during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Call Mrs. Miles in Student Services for an appointment. 410-313-5535 Spanish speaking interpreters will be available, if needed. A maximum of 40 appointments may be scheduled.

Parents/Students are encouraged to bring the following information with them:
a.       The student and the parents Federal Student Aid ID, if they already have one.
b.       A copy of the student and/or the parents 2017 Tax Returns, if they have filed.
c.        A copy of the student and/or the parents 2017 W2s and,
d.       All 2017 untaxed income info. Untaxed information includes but is not limited to child support, housing, food, and other living allowances, veterans non-educational benefits, etc.
Computers will be up and running for families to log on and receive assistance from Financial Aid Advisors  with the completion the FAFSA. While we recommend that both the student and a parent attend, we understand that parents and sometimes students are unavailable during the day. If only one can attend, we will walk through the process with the attendee to ensure they can take the information back and complete the application process later, when they get home.
