Parking Permit Only Parking

Mon, 11/12/2018 - 10:23am

Effective January 1st, 2019, the Howard County Police Department will be enforcing the “Parking by Permit only” signs per the county ordinance. This enforcement will be effective from 7:25 am to 2:10 pm during scheduled school days.

Signs are located at all parking entrances of Glenelg High School and will apply to all parking lots. Visitors should parking in the designated spots located in the front of the building.  Any persons parked on school property without a designated permit will be ticketed and fined $50.00.

All students who plan on parking anytime during the 2018-2019 school year, need to attend a *Drivers Safety Meeting per Howard County Public School System.

Please call Glenelg High School if you have any questions, 410.313.5528.

*Student parking is offered first to seniors, students in the mentorship/work study program and juniors on space available basis. 9th and 10th grade students are NOT eligible to receive a parking permit. Parking is considered a privilege, not a right at Glenelg High School.  Eligible students who wish to exercise this privilege and obtain a parking permit are required to attend a Safe Driver Seminar hosted by the Howard County Public School System in collaboration with the Howard County Police.  Students are not required to have a current driver’s license or a provisional driver’s license to attend the seminar. Attending the seminar is mandatory and qualifies a student to receive a parking permit throughout the school year if space permits. Both the student and parent/guardian must attend the ENTIRE Seminar and obtain the application which will be signed by the administrator at the conclusion of the evening.  Students will be required to bring the following items to the Front Office Secretary, Mrs. Barnoski, to obtain their parking permit:

  • Completed Howard County Public School Parking Permit Application (distributed at the Driving Seminar) with administrator signature verifying attendance.
  • Make, model and license plate number of the vehicle MUST be on the application. The permit will not be issued without this information.
  • A copy of the student’s valid Maryland Driver’s License
  • A copy of the insurance coverage for the vehicle (Not Expired)
  • A copy of the Glenelg High School Parking Regulations signed by both the student and parent/guardian
  • Cash or Check for $15.00 made payable to Glenelg High School
