GHS Attendance Email
If your student is absent from a class or for the entire school day, for any reason, please email GHSAbsence@hcpss.org. We will record your student's absence to help teachers know who needs to make up any missed assignments. Please email your student's first and last name, grade, and reason your student is absent. Only HCPSS approved reasons will be approved per the HCPSS Policy 9010, Attendance.
New Electronic Attendance Process Using the Synergy StudentVUE app
Beginning on March 21, Glenelg High School students who arrive after 7:50 am will sign in electronically using a new attendance check-in system called StudentVue. Students will need to download the StudentVUE app on their personal device. The app will have a student identification card and barcode used to scan in and receive a late pass to class.
The StudentVUE app is available in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store and is free to download. Please see below for the Android and Apple Store QR Codes and instructions. You can also view instructions for setting up the app here. Please encourage your student to download the app and set it up. If storage space is an issue on the student's device, they can take a screenshot of their barcode, save it as a favorite, and delete the app.
There will be an alternate sign-in procedure for students who do not want to download the app or are unable to download it. If students experience problems or have questions, they can receive assistance from Mrs. Mize, Attendance Secretary.
Questions? Please the email the school registrar Vanessa Hooks at vanessa_hooks@hcpss.org.
