4x4 Schedule Update, August 18, 2020

Parents/Guardians – You received an email containing a list of your students’ courses for the 2020-2021 school year on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

UPDATE: All schedule change requests must be submitted to your child's counselor by Monday, August 24, 2020 

Please look at this list carefully.  After reviewing the list of courses, should you have any questions or concerns, please email your counselor. 

Reasons to reach out to your counselor:

  • You do not have 8 courses listed
  • You wish to change the instructional level of a course (GT, Honors, Regular)
  • You wish to change an elective course that was chosen for you
  • You wish to sign up for Release time
  • Requests to change schedules based on period, teacher or semester will not be granted

***Just a reminder that we are not having teacher aides/lab assistants this school year. 

Please note that our counselors have been diligently working all summer to make sure all students at GHS have a balanced schedule. Due to the complicity of the new 4x4 schedule, you may not be able to make all the changes you desire.  We will try to satisfy each request to the best of our ability.  Working with individual families takes time, so we thank you ahead of time for your flexibility and patience. We will return your emails in the order we receive them. The turnaround time may take longer than usual. Please make sure you send in your request for a schedule change by Monday, August 24, 2020.

FAMILY FILE: Please update your Family File through your HCPSS Connect account (www.hcpss.org/connect). All Family Files need to be submitted in the system, even if there are no changes to the information, before the first day of school, September 8th. If you need to request a Chromebook or Hotspot, please indicate in Family File. See directions below:

Directions on Identifying Need for Chromebook and/or Internet

  1. Parents/guardians should log in to HCPSS Connect.
  2. From the left menu, the last choice, select “More Options” then choose “Student Technology.”
  3. On the HCPSS Student Technology screen, use the drop-down arrows to indicate the Technology Requested for each student. Changes are saved immediately.
  4. If a device has already been issued, it will appear in the inventory list. If a student already has a device issued, a new request will not be processed.
  5. Families will receive a confirmation email with necessary information, including pickup location, date, and time.

  • New Student Orientation - 9:00am - 11:30am, September 3rd
  • Back to School Night - 6:00pm, September 3rd
  • First day of school - September 8th
