On December 21st, students will receive information and training on how to request courses for the 2021-2022 school year.
The course registration/course selection process is online through your student’s Synergy account.  All students must choose 7 courses or courses equaling 7.0 credits and 4 alternate courses for next year.  All students must enter their course requests online by January 18th.

Four Alternate Course Selections: Please note the importance of the 4 alternate courses. We are planning on returning to the 7-period school day (4th period A/B) next year. In the event that we have to return to the 4 x 4 period block schedule, we will be taking the 1st alternate as the 8th preferred class. Please list your 4 alternates in priority order and do not duplicate any of your requests. 

 Applications & Research Laboratory (ARL) Courses: If you are interested in taking an ARL course next year, all ARL course requests must be completed by February 5th.  

Course Selection Decisions: We encourage all families to talk with their students about their course requests and choose the classes together. January Virtual Information Sessions: On January 5th, we will be offering virtual sessions to provide families with information on the scheduling process.  For rising 9th graders, there will be a virtual Scheduling Presentation and Meeting with content specific teachers and departments.  For current 10th-12th graders, we will host a virtual Q&A session on the scheduling and course registration process.  The times and Google meet codes for these sessions on January 5th will be posted as we get closer to the date.

Counselors will publish their Scheduling Appointment Calendars on Monday, December 21st. Their calendars will specify the date and time they plan to meet virtually with every individual student to discuss their selections for the 2021-2022 school year. These meetings will take place between January 6th and February 17th. Please encourage your student to work in advance with teachers, employers, or any other potential conflicts to be sure they are available to attend their scheduled advising appointment. Two attempts will be made to meet with your student before their courses are selected for them. Counselor Scheduling Appointment Calendars will be published to the GHS website and on Canvas."
