The Glenelg FIRST Robotics Team has recently qualified for the Chesapeake District Championship which includes Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The District Championship is the top sixty teams out of 129. They are currently ranked 46th place.
At both of their last competitions, the team has won the Gracious Professionalism award which celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism® working together both on and off the playing field.
"Gracious Professionalism is part of the ethos of FIRST. It’s a way of doing things that encourages high-quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community."
Even though the team has qualified, the work is never over. In the photo below, you can see that the team is hard at work testing code which uses cameras to move the robot to special markers on the floor.
