On October 12, 2022, all GHS 9-11th graders will take the PSAT/NMSQT exam. This exam is offered, free of charge, to students enrolled in Freshman - Junior year in HCPSS schools. The schedule for the day is posted below. ARL students in 9-11th WILL NOT attend ARL this day; HCC and early release students in 9-11th will remain at school for testing. Testing room assignments will be shared via CANVAS and posters at school.
What to bring: #2 pencils, water. Technology will need to be off and away for the duration of the exam.
How to prepare: Visit the College Board website, get rest the night before, and eat a good breakfast that morning. Arrive on time to school (by 7:20 am) and report to your assigned testing room.
What if I miss testing day? There is no make-up for the PSAT. If you miss the testing day, you can test another year (unless you are a junior).
More about the exam: The test is paper and pencil. It takes about 3.5 hours in total. The test is given to identify students’ skills and strengths when preparing for the SAT. It can also help students be identified for scholarships through the college board.
What do I do if I have questions? Contact Lisa Prime (Testing Assistant) at Lisa_Prime@hcpss.org or Judi Hendricks (Testing Coordinator) at Judith_Hendricks@hcpss.org.
