Regularly monitoring your child’s progress

Fri, 10/04/2019 - 2:29pm

With the changes to the recently revised Board of Education Policy 8020 Grading and Reporting: Middle and High School, middle and high schools will not distribute interims. The purpose of grading and reporting is to provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and their parents/guardians. Instead of interims, secondary students and parents/guardians are encouraged to regularly monitor progress via the grade book in HCPSS Connect - Canvas. Elementary school teachers do not use Canvas for grading and will continue to distribute interims. Middle/high school students and parents/guardians can use the directions in this post to access current course assignment scores and grade averages.

Attention Parents and Students Driving and Parking at Glenelg High School

Fri, 09/27/2019 - 8:32am

Beginning Monday, October 7, 2019, all students who drive and park at Glenelg High School are required to display the 2019/2020 hangtag they were given when they presented their paperwork to the front office. Parking by Permit Only signs is posted in our parking lots. A survey of our lot this week discovered that there were 20 students without hangtags parking on our lot. All students have been notified that they are required to attend with their parent the final Fall Safe Driving Meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 2019, at 6:30 PM at Hammond High School. If your Junior plans on parking after the seniors graduate they must still attend a Safe Driving Meeting.
