2019-2020 Welcome

Dear Glenelg Families,

I am delighted to welcome you to the 2019/2020 academic year at Glenelg High School!

I trust that your summer holiday was good, filled with memorable experiences and many moments where you got to spend time with your loved ones. Here at Glenelg, we pride ourselves as our dedicated and hardworking staff are committed to meeting the specific needs of each student to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We hope to partner with you in this endeavor by encouraging our students to be the best versions of themselves every day.

All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff are already planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our enthusiastic Student Services team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard-working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility. And, our much-appreciated PTSA, Boosters and Band Boosters organizations are gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities and offer other exciting events and programs. We are indeed a joyful and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning.

I am excited to have a new assistant principal, Mr. Patrick Crouse, joining us this school year.  I have had the privilege of working with Mr. Crouse throughout the summer and can already tell that his energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to children will positively impact Glenelg.  I am also pleased to announce that assistant principals Ms. Mary Cherry and Dr. William Neugebauer are returning to GHS for the 2019/2020 school year.  We look forward to a very positive and productive year working together with the school community!

Please bring your schedule with you to orientation.

Students are not permitted to ride any bus other than their assigned route.  If you have any questions regarding transportation, please contact Ms. Cherry at 410-313-5528.

PARENT-TEACHER-STUDENT ASSOCIATION (PTSA) & BOOSTERS:  We encourage all school stakeholders to be actively involved in the PTSA and Boosters.  We are thrilled to welcome a new but familiar face, Ms. Bose Abu, as PTSA president for 2019/2020!  We are also very excited to welcome back our Boosters president, Ms. Lori Jaap!  More information will be forthcoming on how you can get involved in both of these tremendous organizations.

Here’s to another year of inspirational learning and memorable moments at GHS!  We look forward to a very positive and productive year together!
