HCPSS Educational Partnerships 2019-2020 Annual Report

“Together” is the theme of the just released HCPSS Educational Partnerships 2019-2020 Annual Report. Each school’s partners are listed, as well as system wide (at-large) and curricular and program office partnerships. In the report, you will see examples of how partners help care for students and staff.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Lessons

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is a county initiative. Glenelg has decided to use this time to work on how we can learn and grow as a community. Sometimes, these lessons include having hard conversations centering on Personal Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy (P.R.I.D.E). Always, they are centered on the fact that we are GLENELG STRONG, a community who lifts up and supports one another.

Glenelg High School Student Code of Conduct

The HCPSS Student Code of Conduct provides a framework to support behavioral goals and disciplinary policies. All students are expected to be aware of and abide by this Student Code of Conduct. Parents/guardians are encouraged to read the Student Code of Conduct carefully and to discuss the information with their children. Staff will follow the Student Code of Conduct when supporting students and determining consequences for violations. Additional information about school system practices, policies, and services available to support and enrich learning can be found in the HCPSS Student and Parent Handbook.

Yearbook Recognition AD for Class of 2021

As you know, so much of what we once considered to be a “normal” school year has changed, especially for our seniors. We know many of you are looking for anything you can do to maintain some sense of normalcy and tradition and celebrate your senior. Yearbook recognition ads are a great way for parents, families and friends to commemorate student achievements and important milestones. In addition, revenue from recognition ads help our school to create a better yearbook.

MPSSAA’s Plan for Fall, Winter, and Spring Sports 2020-2021sy

The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA), which oversees high school athletics, has finalized its plan (Links to an external site.) for a two-semester return to athletics. As part of the plan, athletic practices and competitions will not resume until the second semester. According to the MPSSAA’s plan, the fall, winter and spring sport competition and championship seasons will be administered in modified formats. Five weeks of interscholastic athletic competition will be available for each season.
