Welcome New Gladiators (New and Redistricted Rising 10th-12th graders)!

We want to welcome you to the 20-21 Virtual Orientation. This is not how we envisioned first connecting with you, but we are going to make the best out of our new virtual world! We look forward to getting to know you personally throughout the school year. We understand coming into the building after 9th grade can be a hard transition. We want you to know that ALL 120 plus staff members are excited to meet you and are here to support you.

Athletic Department Awards for the Class of 2020

The Athletic Department Awards for the Class of 2020 award winners were nominated and voted on by our coaching staff. The Sportsmanship Award goes to the Student-Athlete(s) who, exhibited: Character, Sportsmanship, Scholarship, and Achievement and The Senior Athletes of the Year goes to the Student-Athlete(s) who, Contributed significantly to the team’s season and exhibited the following positive qualities: Leadership, Team work, Work ethic, Ambassadorship – good representative of the sport, and Sportsmanship. Please join me in congratulating those students listed here.

2020 Virtual National Student Council Conference

Join schools nationwide July 22–24, 2020, for the virtual National Student Council Conference. To ensure the first-ever virtual National Student Council Conference is the best possible experience for students, advisers, and all participants, this year’s dates are shifting to July 22–24. The new time frame allows NatStuCo to carefully craft this unique leadership experience—and it gives your students time to register for this FREE online event. They do not have group registration for this conference—students are welcome to sign up on their own or advisers can register their students individually.

Volunteer Opportunity and Fun Project!

Over the next few weeks, you’re going to see some VERY COOL #chalkart creations showing up in and around Downtown Columbia. Your job is to add to the beauty and excitement and spread this colorful cheer Downtown and all over Columbia. Grab some sidewalk chalk and start creating. Then share your masterpiece on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtags #ChalkYourWalk and #ColorColumbia – artists will be selected at random to win gift cards and Downtown Columbia swag.

Food Bank Donations

With the help of our amazing community, Key Club was able to collect over 750 pounds of dry goods and 150 dollars donated to the Howard County Food Bank. With these donations and your support, the Howard County Food Bank can keep helping our community during this difficult time. Thank you to our community and to the Key Club for organizing such a wonderful event. We appreciate all you do to make our community the best it can be!

Congratulations, Class of 2020!

On June 9, 2020, at 10:00 am, the 62 annual and FIRST EVER Glenelg High School graduation aired live stream via the HCPSS website as well as local television. We hope that all of our seniors and their families were able to watch this exciting event. Student Item Drop Off, Senior Diploma Cover Pick Up & Food Drive June 10 ONLY

We know many students have items, such as books, Chromebooks (only if leaving Howard County School System), athletic uniforms, and other school-owned property to return. Seniors may pick up diploma covers and Key Club is holding a non-perishable foods drive. We will have the drop-off and pick up on Wednesday, June 10th, 2020. Please read ALL of the instructions to ensure all of the directions are followed to help make this as streamlined and safe as possible
