Congratulations to our Senior Athletes!

We are saddened that we are unable to have our typical Fall "signing day" for these student-athletes but we want to recognize their amazing accomplishments. Congratulations to all of our students who have decided to play at the collegiate level! Way to go Gladiators!

Taste of Howard County Cookbook

Leadership U provides an opportunity for high school juniors in the county to learn about how Howard County business and government work together to improve our community. Part of the program is to develop and execute a service project to help the community. Our goal is to raise money for the Starlight Foundation that works with Howard County General Hospital to comfort and support children that are in the hospital.

Congratulations, Natsuki Sacks!

Congratulations to Natsuki Sacks on earning the Maryland Seal of Biliteracy in English and Japanese! This is an achievement of which you should be very proud, as it takes years of dedicated study to build the skills required to earn it. DALE CARNEGIE YOUNG ADULT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program, open to all H.S. students and back by popular demand, teaches life skills in communication, leadership, interpersonal skills, public speaking, stress management, and self-confidence. This is a world renowned program offered at St. Andrews Church off of Rt 97 in Glenwood (as River Hill High School is not available with schools closed). The church has a very large room which promotes safe social distancing practices while allowing social interaction and learning and developing in a safe and productive manner.

9th Grade Families

As the ninth grade team leader, I am certainly aware of the struggle of online schooling! We miss chatting with our students in the hallways and watching them at their sports events. However, we have to play the hand we're given, and we're trying our best to form connections and cultivate welcoming "classrooms." To that end, here are a few tips:

Excused Absences

To make an absence legal, we need an email verification from the parent/guardian if your student is absent from a class or for the entire school day. Please email GHSAbsence@hcpss.org. We will record your student's absence to help teachers know who needs to make up any missed assignments. Please email your student's first and last name, grade, and reason your student is absent. Only HCPSS approved reasons will be approved per the HCPSS Policy 9010, Attendance.
