Student for Service

Intergenerational internship project for July of 2019 (Students for Service). It is designed to introduce youth, grades 10 through 12, to the helping services. They can earn up to 32 community service hours while working in an office environment or doing recreational activities. The deadline has been extended to May 31, 2018. Participating students will be assigned to a DCRS site for 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, and work for 2 weeks (8 Days Total). The project is scheduled to run from July 8, 2019, to July 19, 2019.

Car & Motorcycle Show!

Check out the Second Annual GHS Car & Motorcycle Show on Sunday, August 25th 9am - 2pm on the Glenelg High campus. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Register to show your car or motorcycle: Mr. Tim Graham at 410-313-5528. Car registrations are $15.00, $10.00 for tables.

Congratulations Kassidy Sharp!

Congratulations to Ms. Sharp, the drama teacher! Ms. Sharp was nominated by a family in our community for the Special Education Community Advisory Committee's Staff Recognition Evening. Ms. Sharp was honored at River Hill High School on May 1, 2019, for her outstanding work with our ALS students

Congratulations to Mr. Cabotje!

Congratulations to Mr. Cabotje, a science teacher! Your fine work as a teacher is being honored. One of your former students, a rising senior at the University of Maryland in College Park in the A. James Clark School of Engineering, has been chosen as a 2019-2020 Philip Merrill Presidential Scholar. You have been named as the teacher who had the greatest impact on his academic achievement. Way to go Mr. Cabotje!

Congratulations Maggie Yin! A national gold medalist in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards! Maggie will be honored at Carnegie Hall and have her work on display in New York City in June.

Congratulations Robotics!

The Glenelg FIRST Robotics Team has recently qualified for the Chesapeake District Championship which includes Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The District Championship is the top sixty teams out of 129. They are currently ranked 46th place. At both of their last competitions, the team has won the Gracious Professionalism award which celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism® working together both on and off the playing field.
